This came to life as a contribution to a group of Elton John covers curated by internet legend Jeff Larkin. EJ’s version (to my ears) is perfect— so why not mess with it? EJ and Bernie's song is jaw-dropping in its' starkness and etheral crush. I've been in love with it since the first time I heard it. I've never heard something so direct from EJ.

This was a potential debacle in the making. Orig a collab between myself and Mitch Raftery, who was on his way to China for 6 months when the idea came up. The two of us made a mess that needed tending. Bat-call ensued to the Sinners. Al Maddy, Michael Ratti, Jesse Barnes killed it per usual with Isaac Gerard behind the board at SuperGiraffe. A version was released on soc media, but then Ivan Julian added a piano track that resulted in this mix. The result is nowhere near where I was headed (also per usual), and (once I got there) exactly where I intended. Enjoy.
